Your
tutor for all the courses is the artist and gallery proprietor Wendy
Powell Jones.
Wendy will demonstrate many painting techniques and paint along
with students. Exercises and reference material is provided.
Groups are kept small (max 12) and individual attention is given
as much as possible.
Courses
are held for absolute beginners and improvers - those who have
completed a beginner's course at the Gallery or have had tuition
elsewhere.
Weekly
Daytime Courses
Classes are held weekly, last for 2 hours and each course runs
for 12 weeks during school term times.
The courses are accredited by the Centre for Life Long Learning,
Trinity College, Carmarthen.
Details
of beginners course
The course is a general introduction to watercolour painting
and drawing and is accredited by Trinity College Carmarthen.
The fee is £65, a percentage of which covers gallery overheads
the remainder being forwarded on your behalf to the college.
We shall be looking mainly at aspects of landscape painting.
Reference material will be provided. The drawing media will
include pencil, charcoal and pastels. I have a selection of
these available for student use. If you need to buy materials
please do not hesitate to visit the gallery for advise. I have
a recommended list of materials for the course all of which
can be purchased here. If you require further details call in
the gallery or give us a ring. If you have had some experience
with other tutors I do have a limited number of places on improver
course so please contact me.
